Deś

"Deś means “land”. Desi is someone who is from the land. The word was first used 200 BCE in a Sanskrit treatise on the performing arts. Arts that created a cultural relation between the tribes and cultures on the Indian Subcontinent, despite the diversity and differences from region to region."
